Elixir was founded by two researchers who spent too many evenings writing ethics applications and not enough time doing actual science.

Paediatric doctor with a PhD in microbiology and epidemiology. Experienced in healthcare surveillance and protocol development. Currently manages multiple research studies alongside clinical work.

Dr Alex Palmer-Walsh
PhD in machine learning and computer vision. Brings technical expertise in AI-enabled diagnostics and secure data infrastructure.
Why paediatrics?
Child health research has specific challenges that generic platforms ignore. Consent is more complex. Communication needs to work for busy parents. Data collection has to be simple enough that families actually complete it.
We built Elixir because nothing else addressed these properly.
